The Feria de Abril 2026 It was held in Seville from April 21st to 26th at the Real de la Feria in the Los Remedios neighborhood, with more than 1,000 booths. Here’s how that edition went and what you need to know if you’re going for the first time: public booths, better hours, what to eat, what to wear, and how to get there.

Dates of the April Fair 2026: fishing, lighting and fireworks

The 2026 Fair had six days of festivities, preceded by the fish festival on Monday, April 20, the dinner in the booths that precedes the lighting. At 00:00 on Tuesday, April 21, the lights on the Royal streets were switched on, and the festivities continued until Sunday, April 26, which ended at midnight with fireworks along the Guadalquivir. On Wednesday, April 22, it was a local festival in Seville.

The 2026 cover, by architect Davide Gambini, recalled the 500th anniversary of the wedding of Carlos V and Isabel of Portugal in Seville (1526): it was inspired by Carlos V's cenador at the Real Alcázar and the Portugal Pavilion at the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, and was illuminated with more than 28,000 LED bulbs. The Fair has been held since 1847 and has not always fallen in April: its dates change according to the liturgical calendar, and some years it moves to May. We have reported on this in the history of the April Fair.

Public and private canteens: where you can go

Most of the Real's booths are private: its members invite their family and friends to them, and to get in you have to be invited by one of them. If you don't know anyone, there are the public booths, where you can enter without an invitation and without paying an entrance fee; the food and drink are paid for like in a bar.

What to see at the Fair according to the time

From noon until late afternoon is the time for the horsemen and horse carriages, which can circulate through the Royal Palace until 8:00 p.m. It is the best time to see the costumes, the interactions, and the family atmosphere.

Afterwards the horses are removed; at dusk the Royal Palace is illuminated and in the booths sevillanas are danced until dawn. If you can only go for one day, arrive in the middle of the afternoon and stay to see it illuminated. Next to the Royal Palace is Calle del Infierno, the fair’s amusement park, with an area of about 87,000 square meters.

What to eat and drink at the Fair

The typical drink is rebujito: manzanilla with lime soda or sparkling water, mint and lots of ice, prepared in a pitcher for sharing. The manzanilla alone, well chilled, remains the classic option. The menus of the public kiosks in 2026 included fried fish, ham, tortilla, croquettes and flamenquín. You have more details in what to eat and drink at the Feria de Abril.

What to wear and how to get to the Real

The flamenco costume is not mandatory for walking around the Royal Palace or entering a public pavilion. Many women wear it, most men wear a shirt and jacket, and the short dress is mostly worn by those who ride horses. What doesn’t go well together is beachwear. We explain this in how to dress for the Seville Fair.

To get there, public transport is the most practical option. In 2026, line 1 of the metro ran uninterrupted from Monday morning until the early hours of the following Monday, with the stations of Plaza de Cuba, Parque de los Príncipes and Blas Infante being the closest to the Royal Palace; Tussam also put in place the special Prado-Feria shuttle from the Prado de San Sebastián. From the city center, you can also get there on foot by crossing the river.

Sevillanas at the Fair, flamenco at the tablao

In the booths, Sevillanas are danced, a dance for couples, in four-step patterns of three to four beats. It is not the same as flamenco the stage version, with sticks like the soleá, alegrías or bulerías; we explain the difference in this article. flamenco and sevillanas: what is the difference.
